Dog Adoption Design Research

This project was created as part of Parsons for the Design Research course. It is about understanding problems and challenges around dog adoption; it is the “why” behind economic development, the catalyst for innovation. The scope of design research is to define requirements and to discover opportunities within the dog adoption realm in NYC.

The emphasis of this project is on gathering and organizing research material in order to translate insights into leads that can drive the project towards meaningful action.

This was achieved by deploying some tools of Human-Centered Design and the Design Thinking process to conceptualize ideas and business models that would help catalyze meaningful change among possible dog adopters in order to increase adoption in quality and quantity.

The research question that triggered and lead the research process was: “How might we leverage the use of technology and digital trends in order to increase the quality and quantity of dog adoptions?”
